Burned-in subtitles

Add subtitlesto a video.

Upload a video and a subtitle file, pick a style, and get the video back with the captions in the picture.

To add subtitles to a video, upload the video and an SRT or ASS subtitle file to faktry's subtitle tool, pick one of 12 styles and run it. The text is burned into the frames, so it shows on every platform. Burning in costs 1 credit. If you do not have a subtitle file yet, you can make one by transcribing the audio first.

Get the text, pick a look, burn it in.

The tool styles and places the subtitles. The words come from a subtitle file.

  1. 01

    Get a subtitle file

Already have an SRT or ASS file? Use it. If not, extract the audio from the video (1 credit), run it through the transcribe tool with Whisper-1 and choose SRT as the response format (2 credits), then save the result as an .srt file. Check the text before you continue.

  2. 02

Upload the video and the file

Add the video and the subtitle file together. Free accounts upload files up to 10 MB, and paid tiers allow more.

  3. 03

Choose a style and an animation

Pick one of 12 style presets, from a plain classic look to bold impact, neon or handwritten, then add an animation if you want one: fade, pop, bounce or blur.

  4. 04

    Run it and download

Choose the output format and run it. The video lands in your library with the subtitles in the picture. With a transcript made first, the whole job costs 4 credits.

What you control.

Three settings in the tool, and more through the API.

Style preset
Classic, bold impact, cinema, pop art, neon, elegant, graffiti, reels, retro, documentary, lol and handwritten. Each preset sets the font, colours, outline and position together.
Animation
None, fade, pop, bounce or blur.
Output format
MP4, MKV, MOV or WebM. MP4 is the default and plays everywhere.
Burned in, not switchable
The subtitles become part of the video frames, so viewers cannot turn them off and no platform setting can hide them. Keep your original video if you may need a clean version.
Typed text and karaoke through the API
Over the API and MCP you can skip the subtitle file and send timed text directly, or send word timings for karaoke highlighting. The same endpoint also lets you set the font, size, colours, outline, shadow, background box and position.
Price
1 credit for the burn-in. Transcribing the audio is a separate step with its own cost.
